Sustainability

Intentional care for nature at every stage. From soil to stem to second life.

Purple Flower

Sow Society is committed to intentional, long-term care for nature rather than quick fixes or greenwashing.

Our number one value is seasonality. The flowers and foliage we choose are from their true season. Never forced to grow or develop in a condition that’s not natural.

The flowers and foliage are carefully selected from growers who care for their soil, their crops and the distances they travel. We try to visit as many growers as we can to ensure we align in our values.

The packaging we have created is designed specifically to be recyclable, biodegradable or re-usable wherever possible. From the stickers, to the tape.

Similarly with our floral mechanics, favouring elements that can be used again and never resorting to the use of floral foam. This is because floral foam breakdown and releases harmful micro-plastics into our environment.

When the flowering is over, we encourage drying stems for a second life, and returning what’s left to the earth via green waste or compost, so the cycle can quietly begin again.

We think about our delicate, ever-changing ecosystem at every stage.

These are the core steps we are taking to ensure we’re heading in the right direction, and will continue to do so as we grow.

We look forward to keeping you updated along the way and showing more of what we’re doing in the coming months.
